Hello everyone! Sorry for what seemed like a lifetime void between blogs, but I plan to update everyone with what is happening in my life on a more consistent basis.
The Jaguar Game... Oh goodness, what fun! The FCCJ Chorale left the school on our bus around 12:30 pm and we sang the national anthem on the Alltel Stadium field around 3:45 or so. The excitement was intense! Leading up to singing, we walked through the Alltel Stadium "underground". lol. The girls and guys had their own rooms to wait in while killing time till we sang. I used the time to listen to my iPod and study my Human Nutrition textbook. When the time came, we gathered in the hallway and lined up accordingly. There was so much energy and excitement! While we were lined up beside a wall, we saw some of the Jaguar players walk by down the hallway. They are very big people. lol. Performance time came, and we headed out. We got in place and waited for a few minutes while both teams ran out onto the field. It was such a rush to be standing just a few feet from all of the huge players running onto the field with all the hooplah and such going on. Then we were introduced and sang the song. It went very well. I recall a moment in the song when fireworks went off (wasn't warned beforehand) and my heart nearly jumped out of my chest! However, I carried on and sang the song, focused and soaking it all in. After we sang, we calmly marched back where we came from, glowing with satisfaction. The fans above where we entered back into the stadium were yelling and cheering for us as we walked back in so that was extremely cool and encouraging. After getting back, we quickly changed clothes and headed out to watch the game! I have to say, the Jags kind of stunk it up, but I still enjoyed my first NFL game nonetheless. I spent my time switching from studying nutrition to watching the game. I definitely wouldn't mind going to some more NFL games. I have to say, it was pretty exciting. After the game, we were immersed into the crowd of people also trying to leave the game. It was so crowded! After we were all on the bus and on our way back, we sang oldie goldies together. It was pretty funny. I made a lot of good memories and enjoy getting experience with things like this. It's one of those things you tell yourself, "Soak it all in and remember this day. This is a memory you can take with you the rest of your life". A success and to top it all off, I wasn't even nervous :). The Jags may have lost, but I won that day.
God Bless you all,
Chelsey
